Origin
The Airedale Terrier
originates comes from Great
Britain. These breeds oririginally was called as "Waterside
Terrier".They were also been called as "Bingley Terrier" because they
are many in Bingley village,Yorkshire. The Airedale is a hunting dog,
the lagest member of the terrier group.
In the 19th century,
they were breed to used as a police dog, and vermin hunter. In the
World War II, they were used as a wartime guard.
This breed of dog was registered with the AKC in 1888.
Coat
The coat of the Airedale
is crisp, wiry, straight,and hard.
This is a sturdy looking breed that is medium or large in size. They
have a double coat, outer coat is hard and dense, and with a soft
undercoat.
The coat colors of this dog is black or grizzle mixed with tan. The
sides , back, and upper parts of the dog body are dark grizzle and
black color.
Training
Airedales need
daily exercise. These dog need a brisk jog or run along side
a bicycle, or work out on the agilility course.
This breed can be very stubborn at times, but some can do very well in
sporting events. Firm but gentle training is required.
Grooming
Should make sure
Airedale's coat requires daily brushing and comb to
keep it clean and free of debris. Airedales have a hard,
short-haired, double coat.
The coat grows continually, and should visit proffesional groomer every
six to eight weeks is necessary. For pet Airedales owners can opt for
clipping.
The Airedale Terrier will shed heavily, brushed frequently to keep to
good looking of the coat. bathe is only required when necessary.
